==Gameplay== Capture the Flag in Matchmaking uses Blind Ban: each player gets to ban one hero, and bans between teams can overlap. Players can pick any available hero afterwards. Players cannot move until the timer hits 0:20, but are able to buy items in this state despite not being within range of a Shop. The objective of the game is to capture the enemy's flag and bring it to your own flag's base. The first team to capture 5 flags or the team with the most flag captures by the 30 minute mark wins the game. ===The Flag=== There are two flags on the map, one belonging to each team. They are located on the bottom left or top right corner of the map. Players can pick up the flag by right-clicking it. Only hero units can pick up the flag. Your team's flag cannot be picked up while it is in its base. Once the flag has been picked up, the flag will be bound to whoever picked it up. The flag is dropped if the holder dies. The flag will also drop if the holder moves more than 2000 units in a single frame or if the holder casts {{si|Parasite|Infest}} ({{hi|Parasite}}), {{si|Empath|As One}} ({{hi|Empath}}), or {{si|Gemini|Fire and Ice}} ({{hi|Gemini}}). When a flag is dropped and outside of base, players can pick up their own flag to instantly return it to base. The flag will also return to base automatically when it remains dropped for 10 seconds. A dropped flag can be picked up and carried by the enemy team. Players can also manually drop the flag. Players can also manually drop the flag using the Drop Flag ability, which replaces [[Fortification]]. This ability has a 20 second cooldown. Once manually dropped, the user cannot pick up the flag for 10 seconds. While holding the flag, the holder is Sighted and Revealed to the enemy team and also has 50% reduced Health Regeneration and 50% less healing received. The flag holder also cannot use a {{ii|Portal Key}}, although it can use any other Movement ability. The holder also takes increased damage based on how long it has been holding the flag, taking from 5% to 300% increased damage at 120 seconds. The {{tooltip|amount of damage taken increases every 4 seconds|in the following intervals: 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, 50%, 65%, 70%, 75%, 80%, 85%, 90%, 95%, 100%, 110%, 120%, 130%, 140%, 150%, 160%, 170%, 180%, 190%, 200%, 250%, 300%}} while holding the flag. Dropping the flag does not reset the damage amplification. Players can capture the flag by returning to their team's flag base. However, to capture the flag, your own flag must be in its base. If the enemy team has picked up your team's flag, it cannot be captured. Once the flag is captured, your team receives a point and a new flag will spawn at the enemy's base. ===Gold & Experience=== All players start at Level 3 with 603 Gold. Heroes and creeps do not give Experience on kill and give much less Gold on kill. Hero kills award 45 gold, although Bloodlust still grants 200 Gold. However, every minute all heroes gain 660 Gold and 156 Experience, even if they are dead. Capturing the flag grants the team 350 Gold. {{Unit infobox |name = Tower |image = No Hero.jpg |combattype = Building |health = Invulnerable |mindamage = 30 |sightrangeday = 333 |sightrangenight = 333 |attacktype = Ranged |attackrange = 700 |missilespeed = Instant |bat = 5 |attackpoint = 0.1 |backswing = 0.9 |turnrate = 9999 }} ===Tower=== Near the flag, there is an invulnerable, unselectable tower guarding it. The tower begins the game, with each hit dealing 150 Physical Damage (which is actually a guaranteed x5 Critical Strike). Every 30 seconds, the tower deals 20 more damage per hit. Damage dealt by the tower is non-lethal. The tower has an attack cooldown of 5 seconds. The tower also Reveals stealthed units & wards within 700 units of it, like regular towers. ===Well=== On the top left and bottom right corners of the map, there is a Well. The Well regenerates 7% Health and Mana per second, but applies a 170% increased damage taken debuff while healing. This effect does not have a lingering time. The Well can be used any player regardless of team. ===Neutrals=== There is a Neutral camp on both sides near the middle, just outside of the base. Only Hard camps spawn here. ===Rune=== A Rune spawns in the center of the map every minute. Haste runes cannot spawn in Capture the Flag. [[Category: Maps]]
