Devourer is a melee strength hero in Heroes of Newerth. He is based on Pudge from Defense of the Ancients: All-Stars.

Lore: Consuming and destroying all in its path, the corpulent, putrid Devourer exists only to feed. No pain can match the agony of its hunger, and so it shrugs off all attacks, spreading its rot and disease across the battlefield like doom itself.
 
  A huge, fat tank, Devourer is extremely slow but is empowered with the ability to pull his opponents to himself via Guttling Hook. He can Devour nearby enemies, causing himself to grow more powerful in the process.

The Devourer launches his Guttling Hook at a target unit or location. The first targetable unit that touches the hook will be dragged back to the Devourer.
Range: 1000/1100/1200/1300 (1500/1600/1700/1800)
Mana Cost: 100/110/120/130
Cooldown: 15/14/13/12 (9) seconds
Deals 135/210/285/360 Physical Damage to target and interrupts channeling abilities. Drags the target to self.

Notes
  • The hook travels at 1600 speed and has a touch radius of 75.
  • The hook can grab ally or enemy units, but cannot grab non-organic units (i.e. Siege creeps).
  • The hook cannot grab anything on its way back.
  • Enemies are stunned for 0.1 seconds upon taking damage.
  • Unit is stunned while being pulled back, including allies.
  • A unit can be pulled at most 1620 (1920) units by the hook. (i.e. Devourer uses a Portal Key while a unit is being pulled back.)

The Devourer allows himself to decay, draining his Health over time and releasing poisonous gasses that both damage and slow nearby enemy units.
Radius: 250
Applies Decay to enemy targets in radius and deals 30/60/90/120 Magic Damage per second to self.

The Movement Slow persists for 2 seconds after an enemy leaves the Decay radius.

Notes
  • Can cast while channeling.
  • Decay self-damage is lethal and can be used to deny yourself. If you have taken hero damage within 1 second upon dying from Decay, the kill credit goes to the last hero who attacked you.
  • Decay will interrupt effects such as Health Potion healing, but does not put Portal Key on cooldown.
  • Devour can extend the radius of Decay up to 340/370/400.

Notes
  • This ability is automatically leveled at the start of the game.
  • Strength is gained when Devourer kills a hero (regardless of range) or if an enemy heroes dies with in 1150 radius of Devourer.
  • Strength counter stops at 126 but the actual STR keep going up.

The Devourer grabs a target enemy and feasts on their flesh, dealing massive damage for every second he feeds while increasing his own power.
Range: 160
Mana Cost: 100/135/170
Cooldown: 30 seconds
Channeling Time: 3 seconds
Target an enemy unit and channel to deal 75/125/175 Magic Damage per second and Heal Devourer for that amount, and apply Stun for up to 3 seconds. For each second that Devour is channeled, Devourer temporarily gains increased radius on Decay.

Notes
  • Channeling is cancelled if target is moved more than 400 units away from Devourer.
